Sunday, September 28th, 2008

I finally compromised while transporting it in a basket covered by thousand and one half and by granting it on a friend who loves cats almost as well as I. But although he was cherished, and congratulated, and fed on the choicest of delicacies, he would not be resigned. After six weeks of mourning, it disappeared, and was never intended to speak more. If he sought a news and more constant mistress, or if, in his sorrow with my abandonment without scruple of her, it went to a certain isolated pillar and were thrown in addition to dock, will be never known. But its fixed glance fraught with reproaches and plors green eyes haunted me all the winter. Much one night agitated I had to reproach me to give up a creature which so much really liked me; and in much dream it made return to the shame and the ignominie of heap on my repenting head.
